Dr. Allen has selected eight high-interest novels to anchor this part of the Plugged-in to Reading program and to keep students focused and productive. With clear guidance on the “how to” of the Literature Circle and exciting materials and roles to keep students productive, Dr. Allen creates a marvelous and manageable bridge between teacher-directed instruction and the self-directed learning to come.
The Plugged-in to Nonfiction Power Strategies
After making a long list of all the strategies important to reading nonfiction, Janet saw that those strategies could be categorized under 8 Power Strategies. These Power Strategies, identified by Janet, are the basis of Plugged-in to Nonfiction.
